Mannheim/Seddiner See. H&C Stader has acquired all shares in archivalism GmbH and is now the sole owner of the company. Previously, H&C Stader held 40 percent of the shares. The company will continue to be headquartered in Seddiner See, Brandenburg, with an additional location in Erfurt.

With this strategic decision, H&C Stader is further expanding its archiving division to provide companies and institutions across Germany with professional archival services. The service portfolio of the entire archiving division includes archive development, digitization, cataloguing of historical documents, as well as consulting on archival software and packaging solutions.

Independent brand within the group
archivalism will remain an independent brand with its own profile within the H&C Stader Group. This ensures that archivalism’s proven expertise is preserved while being integrated into H&C Stader’s overall strategy. It is particularly noteworthy that archivalism specializes in supporting and developing archives in the public sector and public institutions.

New responsibilities
Matthias Schlösser, who has long held Prokura (commercial power of attorney) for H&C Stader Archiv GmbH, will additionally assume Prokura for archivalism and oversee its integration into the corporate group. Raphael Hartisch will also receive Prokura as Operations Manager of archivalism.

Berlin. One hundred years ago, the German group of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) was established. This year, ICC Germany celebrated this special anniversary with a major official ceremony. H&C Stader conducted research for the anniversary brochure, compiled the content, and interviewed both former and long-standing employees. The anniversary brochure was presented during the ceremony.

The International Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1919. Since its inception, it has promoted understanding through trade and the removal of barriers to global commerce. Germany joined in 1925, a few years after the end of the First World War. ICC Germany was founded by leading German business associations and remains an important part of the International Chamber of Commerce, which is widely known, among other things, for the International Commercial Terms, or "INCOTERMS."

Hamburg. As part of the first HistoryComms Conference of the DPRG History Communication working group, a position paper adopted by the DPRG on professionalism and quality in corporate history communication was presented.

The HistoryComms Conference on October 9 and 10 brought together communication experts from companies, (business) archives, academia, and agencies across the DACH region. In addition to presenting the position paper, various companies and organizations shared insights on how standards are applied in professional practice. The event was hosted by Beiersdorf AG.

For the first time, the paper sets standards for communicating corporate history and, in ten points, calls for, among other things, giving historians the right to veto if historical content is distorted or scientific standards are disregarded.

The position paper was based on several in-person meetings and remote sessions of the History Communication working group, or its predecessor, the Corporate History Communication network, which was initiated five years ago by H&C Stader founder and CEO Dr. Ingo Stader and communication specialist Matthias Koch. The paper was developed within an interdisciplinary working group of the committee and coordinated with the DPRG board.

The DPRG History Communication working group is the successor to the Corporate History Communication network, founded in 2020, and serves as a platform for exchange among professionals in the field of history communication. Its goal is to strategically anchor and strengthen history communication in companies. Through regular network meetings and open events, the working group advances the development of the profession, defines quality standards, and increases visibility for history communication.
